Attacks by drones highlight Russia's vulnerability

A Russian airbase in the border region of Kursk was the target of a drone attack on Tuesday. The assault comes a day after three servicemen were killed and four others were hurt during attacks on two military airfields located deep within Russian territory. The attack on the airfields at Dyagilevo in the Ryazan region and Engels in the Saratov region was attributed by Russia to Ukraine.

Although Ukraine has not claimed credit for the attacks, if Russia is correct in its charges, it would be the most extensive offensive inside Russian territory by Ukraine since the war began on February 24.

The closest Ukrainian border is at least 600 kilometers (370 miles) away from the Saratov region. According to numerous observers and analysts, this would indicate that the Ukrainian troops are capable of attacking Moscow.
