A Musician You Should Know About

Dave Bartholomew (1918-2019) was one of the leading figures in 20th century New Orleans R&B. He was a songwriter, trumpet player, vocalist, arranger, band leader and producer.

This is CD 3 of a 4 CD set on Roy Brown & New Orleans R&B released by JSP Records (a reissue label I like) in 2005. The first 2 CDs of the 4 CD set highlight Roy Brown and I've included a video of them on the channel. The 4th CD features Professor Longhair and I'll upload it in future.

This CD features Dave Bartholomew and contains tracks recorded by Dave Bartholomew in New Orleans and Cincinnati (King Records) between 1947 and 1951.
