La Linea is a small city in the South of Spain sharing an international border with Gibraltar. This is a view of the city scape overlooking from up on The Rock of Gibraltar. La Linea has over 11 kilometers of sandy beaches, surrounded by water, and amazing views of The Rock of Gibraltar, The African Coast, and the mountains of Spain!

La Linea is a relatively young city in the context of cities in Spain. Most Spanish cities you visit have churches and cathedrals dating back hundreds of years, La Linea does not. The original settlement was San Roque and prior to the mid 1700's and 1800's La Linea was sparsely inhabited by fishermen, countrymen, and tradesmen of the age. In the early 1700's The King of Spain had a Line made by the Spanish army to keep the British from taking more territory, hence why it is called La Linea, or THE LINE.

The city is flat and its easy to walk and bike everywhere. If you are exploring La Linea or Gibraltar, this cityscape overview can give you a glimpse of what you might see.
