This is a comparative Bible study on the events surrounding Jesus attending the Passover (John 2:12 – 4:43) after Jesus was baptized, but before John the Baptist was put in prison. This 13th part further discusses issues regarding the heritage of the woman at the well and the religious beliefs of the Samaritans. During this setting, Jesus is traveling through Samaria on His way to Galilee (John 4:4 – 4:43). Other verses referenced during this Bible study are: Deuteronomy 7:2-4, Nehemiah 13:25-26, 1 Kings 11:4, Exodus 12:48, Jeremiah 39:16-18, Luke 4:25-27, Mark 3:18, Matthew 27:32, Numbers 12:1, Matthew 1:2-6, James 2:25, Hebrews 11:31, Deuteronomy 23:3, Ruth 1:22i, Deuteronomy 12:11, Jeremiah 7:12-14, 1 Kings 11:36, Ezra 6:12, 1 Kings 9:3, 1 Kings 12:26-31, 2 Chronicles 11:14, 1 Kings 16:30-31, 2 Kings 17:24-29, Exodus 20:3-5. Overall, this is our 38th New Testament (NT) Bible study. I'm a layperson, hoping to witness things I believe I've learned through Bible study, and would like to share this information as a friend would with a friend.
