Two primary types of coffee beans are grown commercially around the world: Coffee Arabica or Coffee Robusta. They differ in their conditions of cultivation as well as their flavor and cost. Understanding the distinctions between the two types of coffee is important because they can differ in taste.

Arabica

When roasted, Arabica beans provide a delicate, sweet taste with moderate acidity levels. These kinds of coffee beans require a subtropical, cool climate that has plenty of sun, rich soil and plenty of moisture are available, due to they are located in high elevation. Because Arabica beans are difficult to grow and cultivate They are also more expensive compared to Robusta beans and also have more expensive production costs.

Robusta

Because it produces a sharp, bitter and acrid taste when it is roasted Robusta coffee could be considered a less superior alternative to Arabica. Robusta beans contain more than twice the amount of caffeine as Arabica, and therefore are less vulnerable to diseases and pests because caffeine acts as a natural insecticide in the plant. Robusta beans also resist harsh environments and can be grown at lower altitudes. This means they are less expensive to grow and also to sell.
