The Downside of Charismatic Prayer - Waiting on The Lord in Silence

I was well known for fervent prayers i learned from my days at Brooklyn Tabernacle sister church. Very often people would tell me that they have never heard someone pray like i did in their whole life. Not until Emotionally Healthy Discipleship did i realize that this style of prayer had something seriously missing. The charismatic way of praying had serious flaws. My mindset on prayer was blowen up when i realized ....... I was having a one way conversation with God. I WAS NOT LISTENING TO GOD.

I was doing all the talking
I was the one giving orders

Soren Kierkegaard said
"A man prayed and at first he thought that prayer was talking. But he became more and more quite until in the end he realized that prayer is listening"

A majority of times prayer in not meant to change God but for God to change us
Especially in everyday life and matters of Guidance

Let us not forget the great task of listening to God, listening to the Holy Spirit while praying
