Believe it or not- tupelo gum is pretty abundant in the Southern US pine plantations- just about anywhere you find a flat bog- or year round wet spot -they can grow. Trick is to find a groove with enough trees bunched to provide a good fruit fall- when it does- deer will focus on it till they are gone. Turkeys are big fans of the berries too!
