Risk Aversion And LDS Bureaucracy

Jared and Chris talk about the tendencies of the LDS church to be risk averse and give ground on cultural issues. In our view of the situation, the risk aversion becomes a huge risk of falling into loss of all sovereignty itself. I believe Mormon culture, while having its own hangups, could be a huge bulwark against something far more totalitarian. Cultural Revolutionaries like Gramsci, Lukacs and Mao all saw religious ties as something to dismantle in order to access control over populations much more easily.
