Top 10 U.S. Cities for Summer Jobs and Employment 🤑 #shorts

The season of summer has arrived, and as the temperature rises, so does the need for seasonal employees.

Employers are scrambling to fill positions because of the ongoing labor crisis and impending rise in travel demand. As a result, several have raised pay for jobs like lifeguards, camp counselors, and amusement park attendants, among others.

Teenagers and young adults have excellent employment opportunities this summer: The employment rate for 16 to 19-year-olds is expected to reach 32.8 percent this summer, the highest percentage in 15 years, according to recent study from the Drexel University Center for Labor Markets and Policy.

However, certain locations provide greater seasonal employment prospects than others, at least in accordance with a recent WalletHub analysis that lists the top American cities for summer employment.

The personal finance website examined 182 cities, including the 150 most populous U.S. cities, based on two important factors: the youth job market and each location's social climate and affordability.

More than 20 variables, each with a different weight, were utilized, including the median wage of part-time workers, the amount of summer employment vacancies, accessibility to public transit, and Covid-19 immunization rates. The weighted average of all metrics for each city was used to get the final score.
