Over 2.3 million blocks weighing between five and 70 tons were used to construct the pyramids. Consider how difficult it would have been to carry these massive slabs of granite in ancient times. There will be no cranes, forklifts, or other modern machinery. The average crane nowadays can lift 10 to 20 tons at a time, and even that is done slowly.
Imagine hundreds of thousands of employees lifting and moving huge rocks from different locations in Egypt to the pyramid sites. Surprisingly, not all of the stones used to construct the pyramids came from Giza. Many of the unique granite blocks were brought in from Aswan, Egypt
