What exactly is the win rate in trading? The win rate is the winning trades divided by the losing trades.
If a strategy generates 500 trades over a period, and the winning trades amount to 300, the win rate is 60% (300 divided by 500).
The win ratio and win rate are important in trading. Why? Because you want to avoid behavioral mistakes - like for example selling into a panic or abandoning a good strategy.
A low win rate increases the risk of having many consecutive losers and increases the risk of ruin with the wrong money management.
