A Musician You Should Know About

Willie Dixon (1915-1992) was one of the leading figures in 20th century blues. He was a vocalist, bass player, song writer, producer and arranger who often worked and recorded at Chess Records in Chicago. He has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and the Song Writers Hall of Fame.

Many of his compositions have become blues standards and have been widely covered by other performers. As just one example, the first Led Zeppelin album had two Willie Dixon covers, both of which are performed by Willie Dixon on this album.

Willie Dixon recorded this album in 1970 for Columbia Records. It features nine Willie Dixon original compositions that have become blues standards covered by many other artists.
