Riots are currently taking place in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar over the disappearance of $12 billion worth of coal that the government was supposed to deliver to China.

❗️ Protesters blame corrupt officials for the loss of the coal. The situation is heating up and threatening to escalate into open clashes with security forces.

Yesterday evening, several hundred protesters already gathered in Sukhbaatar Square and attempted to march to Ikh Tenger, where they were stopped by a police cordon.
