Furniture often acquires different names and different ways of being used, I guess that is one of the traits of humans, being innovative. In this video we are building something called a plant stand, an album table and guest table and it is all the same table, just used for different things, hence different names.
To build this table we needed to start off with some straight grain wood that would be suitable for nice straight legs, but them we glued 2 pieces of wood together to make the legs stronger and less likely to bend and warp depending on moisture content. The assembly was quite easy when we used our Dowelmax doweling jig. The table aprons aligned beautifully and the assembly went together without a hitch.
We wanted to give this table a bit more character by adding a small, natural edge top, and by chance I had a small off cut that I had been saving for some sort of a project in the future, an it happened to fit perfectly (after a wee bit of trimming).
The whole table was dyed a dark walnut color and finished with Osmo.
