Ukraine Update, Rybar War Map for

November 9, 2022

Kursk region

UAF shelled the village of Guevo in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. There were no injuries as a result of the incident, several residential buildings were damaged.

Starobelsk direction:

There are no significant changes to the front line. Positional battles and artillery duels are taking place along the line of contact.

Ukrainian formations fired at Kremennaya with MLRS HIMARS, damaging several civilian objects.

Donetsk direction:

The Armed Forces of Ukraine once again struck at the Donetsk agglomeration: the capital of the DPR, Makeevka, Gorlovka, Staromikhaylovka, Golmovsky and Yakovlevka were attacked.

After yesterday’s attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on an electrical substation in Yasinovataya, the authorities called on citizens to limit electricity consumption, and also announced their readiness to introduce permanent rolling blackouts.

Dnipropetrovsk region:

The RF Armed Forces inflicted at least 3 strikes of the Geran-2 kamikaze UAV on the UAF ammunition depot located in one of the logistics terminals of the New Post in Dnepropetrovsk.

According to preliminary data, Russian kamikaze drones hit objects in Krivoy Rog: explosions thundered near the dam on Ingulets, a local military camp and in the Central City district.

Southern Front: Nikolaevsko-Berislavskoe direction

In the Nikolaevsky sector, Russian units began to withdraw from their positions in accordance with the decision of the command.

According to preliminary data, the UAF took up positions in Pravdino and Kiselevka.

At the Snigirevsky sector, the Armed Forces of Ukraine again tried to storm the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in Snigirevka itself, however, Russian servicemen from the 205th brigade were able to withstand the attack, destroying about ten armored combat vehicles and shooting down a Mi-8 helicopter.

After the publication of information about the withdrawal of the RF Armed Forces to the left bank of the Dnieper, unconfirmed data began to be published on the network about the withdrawal of Russian units from the settlement.

In the Berislav sector, several combined UAF assault groups again launched an offensive at the Polyanka-Dudchany line.

The soldiers of the Ukrainian army were able to gain a foothold southwest of Dudchan, but could not advance further due to minefields and the work of artillery of the RF Armed Forces.

Kherson Withdraw Analysis

The Russian command announced the withdrawal of the RF Armed Forces to the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, where a new line of defense will be organized.

The official reason was the difficulty in supplying the group on the right bank of the river and the need to maintain the combat capability of the Russian troops in this area.

Lets look at the position of Kherson, and surrounding areas and why withdrawing troops to the left bank Dnieper would benefit RF Forces.

It would take a lot of resources to maintain battle ready personal if RF forces didnt withdraw from Kherson. Supply lines would be cut and with winter fast approaching it would be difficult to maintain battle status. Russian High command didnt want to sacrifice the troops just to hold a territory that would not benefit them.

It would be much easier to leave a small battle group on the left bank to defend against any possible attack of the UAF forces. With more availiable troops RF forces can now focus on section where they are advancing and can maintain supplies. Possible targets could be Izyum and Kharkiv.

At the same time UAF now must maintain Kherson and keep it supplied, which takes away resources from other fronts.

While the RF troops are withdrawing they are not panicing and running away, they are continueing to shell UAF positions eliminating tanks, armored vehicles and personal. At the end of the day Dniper River will provide a natural barrier of defense for the RF forces as winter conditions set in and only ferry systems will allow for crossing of any armed forces.
