Dramatic brawl breaks out in Senegal’s parliament

Scuffles between lawmakers broke out during the 2023 budget debate in the Senegalese National Assembly, with Massata Samb of the opposition hitting Amy Ndiaye Gniby in the face. After the initial attack, Gniby threw a chair and was hit again by another lawmaker. The session was suspended as politicians traded blows, accusations, and insults.
