Um surto causado por um fungo conhecido como cordyceps causa pânico nos Estados Unidos, transformando os hospedeiros humanos em monstros canibais em diferentes estágios. Em 2033, vinte anos depois da infecção, Joel(Pedro Pascal), um dos sobreviventes, é contratado para contrabandear uma garota chamada Ellie(Bella Ramsey) para a base do grupo miliciano Vaga-Lumes para ser desenvolvido uma cura, já que a jovem se descobre imune a doença."

Adaptation of The Last of Us promises to reproduce the story of the first game, released in 2013.

An outbreak caused by a fungus known as cordyceps causes panic across the United States, turning human hosts into cannibalistic monsters in varying stages. In 2033, twenty years after the infection, Joel (Pedro Pascal), one of the survivors, is hired to smuggle a girl named Ellie (Bella Ramsey) to the base of the militia group Vaga-Lumes to develop a cure, since the young woman finds himself immune to the disease."
