Neither Do They Understand

After He spoke this first parable, Jesus Christ’s disciples asked Him, “Why speakest thou unto them in parables?” Why speak to the people in a mysterious fashion? Is what the disciples are asking. We have to remember, we have the explanation given to us in the Bible, but those that were there that day would have only heard the parable. And many walked away not understanding what was said by Jesus Christ and what was meant by Jesus Christ. He was fulfilling what was written in Isaiah: Isaiah 6:9-10 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. (10) Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. And it could seem cruel, why would Jesus Christ speak in a parable that nobody could understand until he explained it to them?
