In this video, we learn about the concept of willful blindness - a state of mens rea that substitutes for actual knowledge - when dealing with the criminal mind. Most crimes require intent or knowledge of the crime being committed (not ignorance of the law) to be convicted, but there is a small loophole that willful blindness covers in our law that is also recognized in the US through their instruction of deliberate ignorance.
