Ol' Amtrak Joe might be getting a cold shoulder from all the rail workers he just screwed over the next time he hops on a train. The Democrats pulled some parliamentary chicanery to make it look like they tried to get at least 7 days of paid sick leave for railroad workers. But it was all a ploy to save face as the outcome was never in doubt.

Rafael Warnock has just been given the perfect closing message in Georgia. It goes like this: rail workers in Georgia and across the country want paid sick days. They currently get none. That's just wrong. I have colleagues in the Senate like Marco Rubio, a Republican John Hickenlooper Democrat who won a deal for these workers that gives them the dignity they are asking for. I urge Congress and the president to support at least a week of paid sick days for these essential rail workers. It's a two thousand dollar check Dynamic and a tight electoral window. I think it's worth the shot. Even if Herschel somehow can pull off a strike that would ruin the economy, it's easy to argue why these workers should have their dignity. it seems like such a slam dunk to me. I don't understand why. I really don't. I really don't. but you know who knows maybe I don't wanna I don't want to sacrifice my lifetime Rail Pass man. I mean the workers are probably going to give you crap if you don't. yeah exactly. there's no reason for any of those Amtrak workers to be so excited about like thanks. oh, the 8 400th trip great Joe, yeah I'm currently sick but they'll try not to get you sick. Iowa Ryan my job is bad about sick days. I had a problem in my house and a car problem. I called in six times in the past year. I can't call in again until April. takes a year for the calling to get off your record. It's stressful. I work in a cannabis grow room. I mean it's just insane to me. I mean in the broad thing like we went through a pandemic and we didn't change our Health Care system at all. We just said maybe we'll do some cobra stuff. But like we lost millions of people. And you know I mean I look the Cobra thing was really more about like again if you were on the receiving end of it it looked great because you didn't have to pay for the cobra. it's just that our refusal to actually you know doesn't want anybody to think that that safety net is a hammock type of attitude. But what's also sort of effed up is that like we didn't I think what's more nuts to me is that we don't have paid sick leave. Like that didn't pass. Like I mean how do you justify that in the context of an emergency that we just went through. Yeah I saw trio's point out Pete's Buttigieg is like trying to give people discipline here it's like you just got off paternity leave bro. Like when we all supported you in doing so. Yeah exactly.
