Here is a super simple DIY method to check to see if you have a forged or cast iron crankshaft. Whether you have a DZ 302, Hemi, LT1 350 Z/28, 327 fuelie, 273 Commando, or any other factory high performance car. This simple method of using a ballpeen hammer to listen to the harmonics and a keen eye for casting marks, you can easily see if your crankshaft is forged or cast! So if you are a DIY engine builder and like to do things are your own, here is a super easy way to see if you have the right crank for your hot rod or drag racing engine!
