Thousands of Elephant Seals on a California Beach near Hearst San Simeon State Park. We came around the turn in Southern California traveling on Cabrillo Highway US-1 and there they were. Thousands upon thousands of Elephant Seals, lined the beach for nearly a half mile. The beach where they migrate yearly is near Hearst Castle a little south of Piedras Blancas Lighthouse. if you ever get a chance in late January to see this natural event you won't be disappointed.
