Christ’s church first charter -> destroy the kingdom of darkness

Matthew 16:18 ESV
"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

The very first commission Jesus gives Peter and His church isn't about saving souls. It isn't about healing the sick, or casting out demons. Jesus says His church will crush the kingdom of darkness and even hell itself will not win. Wow what a statement!
