The Church should live by the moral values it espouses!

God commands His children to live lives that are pleasing to Him and that we strive to live lives that are holy. We are certainly not holy in and of ourselves since none are really good (Isaiah 64:6; Rom 3:10-12) but we are to be striving for holiness and this is what sanctification is all about. It is a lifelong process where we are to grow more holy and this is only possible when we are led by the Spirit of God.

1 Peter 1:16
“Since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

Hebrews 4:12-13
12) For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13) And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

2 Corinthians 13:5
“EXAMINE [Y]OUR SALVATION TO SEE WHETHER WE ARE STILLIN THE FAITH”

2 Corinthians 4:2
“But we have renounced disgraceful and underhanded ways. We [are to] refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth [a preacher of God’s word is to commend himself] to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God”.
