Cyber-security researchers discovered on Friday that hackers are currently offering at least 1.5 lakh patient data records from the multispecialty hospital Sree Saran Medical Center in Tamil Nadu for hundreds of dollars on the Dark Web as AIIMS-Delhi struggles to recover from a significant ransomware attack. The stolen database is being advertised for $100, indicating that many copies would be sold. The significant AIIMS ransomware attack, which paralysed the nation's top healthcare institution for days, was followed by the cyberattack. Researchers from the AI-driven cyber-security company CloudSEK claim that the patient's name, guardian name, date of birth, doctor's information, and address are among the data fields being sold on the Dark Web. According to the investigation, the data came from Three Cube IT Lab, a hacked third-party provider.
