The swamp snipe bird is a type of migratory bird in winter that wanders to Southeast Asia and northern Australia. This bird has a long beak, feathers are yellowish brown, black, and white.

Snipebirds generally breed in central and southern Siberia and Mongolia, these birds usually migrate to southeastern China, Southeast Asia and the island of New Guinea.

This bird breeds in open forests and grasslands. When the bird is not breeding, it inhabits a variety of shallow freshwater wetlands including paddy fields and sewage treatment plants.
