Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying nine words in the English language are “I'm from the government and I'm here to help.” In one place that this rings especially true today is in the Netherlands because to comply with EU rules, the Netherlands are going to buy up and close 3,000 farms. To make matters worse, if they refuse, the purchases will be compulsory.

That is right. During a food shortage, the government is saying, “hey, I would like to buy your farm from you. Not because they delusionally think that they can do it better and produce more food at a cheaper cost and provide more food for more people?” No, so that they can shut it down.
