raising a baby chimpanzee for the first time

A baby chimpanzee was born. Her weight increased from 1,750 grams when she was born to 2,600 grams and she now drinks milk seven times a day.

The baby chimpanzee's parents were named "Lulu" and "Nannan", who are zoo chimpanzees. Lulu is her first-time mother and has little parenting experience with her. After her birth, the baby chimpanzee was hand-raised by animal keepers. It is said that it is the first time that artificial breeding has been successful in the Shanghai Wildlife Park.

Depending on the characteristics of the baby chimpanzees, the park's kindergarten staff adapted a set of kindergarten procedures based on the experience of their colleagues at home and abroad. The chimpanzee baby was reportedly not feeling well during her first month. However, when the nursery teacher took care of the chimpanzee baby, it grew up healthy. Staff are currently breastfeeding babies every 3 hours.
