Grand Wash Trail is a 3.6 km linear trail that crosses a wash (dry riverbed). from Scenic Highway 24 to Scenic Drive. It is therefore possible to start at either end.

In our case, we started our hike from Scenic Highway 24 and hiked 2.5 miles and then retraced our steps.

This is a wonderful, super easy, family-friendly hike and one that offers some great opportunities for exploration.

The trail crosses a sandstone canyon whose cliffs reach 240 meters high. There is even a narrower section whose walls are only 4.5 meters apart.

It is important to check the weather before undertaking this hike to avoid flash flooding.
