Professor John Mearsheimer is an American political scientist and international relations, scholar. Along with this title, he is also the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. Belonging to the realist school of thought, Mearsheimer has been described by his peers as the most influential realist of his generation. And here he gives his views on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Professor Mearsheimer's thesis is that the war is the doing of particularly the American administration. Pushing for Ukraine, along with many other neighboring former Soviet Union member nations to become part of NATO. He holds the West very much responsible for the ongoing carnage we see today. And in this interview with Unherd he offers us his evidence and knowledge to support his position.
