In Biology it is explained that we are made up of organs. The bones move the limbs, the heart pumps the blood, the lungs breathe the air and the brain is in charge of all those actions. That’s of course a very basic telling of how it works but, in that description, there is a missing piece. In fact, maybe the most important piece and the very essence of our being. The soul.

Now what is the soul? What do we know? We know it fits perfectly into our bodies which almost act as a vehicle for our souls but we also know that unlike the body the soul is not three dimensional. When we physically split open the vessel, we can find the organs described in the explanation but we would find nothing of the driver of the vehicle. The soul would be absent. However, if we simply close our eyes, relax and then try to locate the soul within we might begin to feel something.

Now for some that feeling may be frustration due to not seeing anything but the empty darkness within. That however, is likely due to the fact that we simply cannot imagine what the soul would look like and would then need to once again use our ability to feel for the soul. I believe we were on the right track when we felt the frustration upon not imagining a perfect soul dancing inside ourselves. The soul IS emotion such as happiness and courage or sadness and fear. It connects those emotions to our physical body with a smile or with a tear.

Now you could ask the question, if the soul is emotion and can connect it to our bodies, then what gifts the emotion to the soul? And that would bring us to the missing piece of this description. If something as beautiful and special as a soul can exist then the creator of the soul can only be MORE beautiful and MORE special than the soul itself. I imagine you can guess where this is heading.

What we fail to acknowledge is that our body, our being is not a mediocre set of organs wrapped in a bow of skin and hair. We each hold inside of us a gift from none other than God. Only He could bestow such a miracle form of life and he trusted you with it.

You have the breath of God in you so think diligently now. Is there anything you cannot achieve? Who could prevent it? Who could prevent God?!
