On Mother's Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the moms of Russian servicemen fighting in Ukraine. Speaking to the women in Novo-Ogaryovo, near Moscow, at his official residence, Putin said he understood their grief over the loss of a child and warned them not to believe "lies" and "fake news."
