Different Phases of Jimi

Jimi Hendrix paid his dues as a young session musician with artists like Curtis Knight and the Squires filling in on guitar but you can clearly hear the definitive Jimi Hendrix starting to pop out. This gets coupled to his appearance at the Monterrey Pop Festival in 1967 doing a copy of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." Nobody copied another artist's hit songs the way Jimi and his own group did and here's your proof and today's Segue City Special.

Segue City is a recurring short-form programming element. At some point it will be a part of "The Big Kahuna." That’s an Internet Radio format that’s a part of Global Entertainment Technology that was created by Dain L. Schult.

It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles.

Other times there are hidden meanings and Easter Eggs in the mix as well. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...

At least that’s the idea… your mileage may vary, check with your dealer; so, you don’t forget order before midnight; operators standing by for your important call; Our talent is on loan from God. We just pray He'll let us finish another segue for tomorrow... Member FDIC.. Licensed drivers only. This offer is void where prohibited by law and that normally means it's legal everywhere but in New Mexico... is that gun really loaded or not and where is Alec? Have you heard about the dyslexic who was working too hard on his imagination skills? He ended up in Santa Fe.

This feature is a four-time winner of the Thomas J. Duke Memorial Music Segue and BBQ Cook-Off Award. Yes, we just won again.
