The Rats of Hope Experiment 🐀 #shorts
Faust Checho delves into the Rats of Hope experiments done by Dr. Curt Richter at Harvard University in the 1950s.
During the first round of experiments Dr. Richter would place rats into water and measure how long they could tread water which resulted in about 15 minutes of swimming before the rats gave up.
In the next round of experiments Dr. Richter decided to test a theory where before the rats gave up he would pluck them out of the water, dry them off and let them rest, and then place them back in after this short break.
The rats ended up swimming for up to 60 hours which proved that the existence of hope can give organisms incredible powers and if that happened with rats just imagine what could happen with a human who never gives up hope.
