Bill 124: Law declared unconstitutional by Ontario court

The Ford administration has replied and announced intentions to appeal the court's decision to invalidate Bill 124, a contentious law that set wage limits for public sector employees.

Bill 124 has consistently infuriated thousands of public sector workers for the last three years. The measure would set a ceiling on their pay rises at 1% annually.

A judge on Tuesday overturned the rule, stating that it interferes with negotiating rights and is illegal, after many unions sued the Ford administration in court.

The province now has two options: either challenge the charge or pay employees enormous sums of money. Colin D'Mello of Global has further information.
