DAY 2: The U.S. Senate Considers the "Respect for Marriage Act"

LIVE: The U.S. Senate considers the controversial “Respect for Marriage Act" for the second day in a row.

In the first procedural Senate vote last week, 12 Republicans joined Democrats to pass cloture on the bill.

Since that vote, Sen. Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, James Lankford and a cadre of other conservative Senators have urged his republican colleagues to adopt amendments to the bill that provide greater protections for religious liberty before passing the final bill.

Those Senators are expected to speak on the Senate floor this afternoon.
