my point tonight do we see something for
the church of jesus christ for our local
church do we see it's important
if if the people that made that trip to
jerusalem it was important for them it's
important for their families it was
important for the larger body of christ
i i fear a little bit
that this whole covet thing
has
um
lessened people's
sense of responsibility to be together
personally and collectively
and i i i want our ministry on youtube
to continue
but i certainly don't want it to be an
excuse for people
stay home
now if you have to stay home because
you're concerned about a loved one or
you can't leave but that's a different
thing
but
may god help us just to sense this and
as we pass the bread and the cup
and as we preach christ's death till he
comes to one another
and we
we
celebrate his body and celebrate
his blood and we do it together
we do it together
it's meant to be one of those together
thing
now i've got one of those little cases
with the cups and the bread and i'll
take the people in the hospital
i'm not real big on that because
communion is really a collective thing
but i do it sometimes
especially for people who can't get out
i will do it if they ask me do it i'll
do it
and i'm glad to do it
but for my own sake
my own opinion
if i got a miss church communion is the
last time i want the last service i want
to miss
that to me special
i'm celebrating my high priest
to the eternal spirit offered himself up
to god
and
i'm celebrating i want to celebrate
collectively with others that believe
the same and feel the same
i want to watch as people take the bread
and drink the cup i want them to preach
to me and i can preach to them and
non-verbal sermon
my faith in jesus christ as my savior
all of us have to miss church sometimes
i'm just saying for me and i've had to
miss a few communion services here not
too
many because to me that's a special one
so the psalmist david felt
that this worship in one place
based on the god-given high priest and
his functions
based on the people getting together
from all over
was not something
big like
and he knew something
there's blessing between god's people
do that
for there
the lord commanded the blessing
even
life father we need blessing from you

we can't bring the dew
we can't be a blessing to others
we can't
make the oil
we need the spirit of god
we need the work of christ
we need the fellow christians that are
brought together to edify each other
to bless us tonight as we gather
and for those that have to be home and
can't be here there's many of them and
we love them wish they could be here
you know many of them wish they could be
we pray for them
and we how precious it is whenever we
get the opportunity
we don't want to be legalistic about
this criticize anybody we know people's
situations are different
for many reasons
bless this service
may we have your blessing tonight
may we leave this place
with a sense
god's blessing on this service
and our lives for being
may we be a blessing to each other while
we're here
