24 Hours in Police Guardianship watchers were left shocked - when a man pursuing two thieves wound up serving jail time. Adam White pursued two thieves from his family home in his vehicle, and in the wake of slamming into them, served two years in prison.

The two robbers were given suspended sentences. Adam took to Twitter as the Channel 4 episode finished the previous evening, saying: "Thank you to everybody for your caring words and heart felt compassion we have experienced a huge amount, it was hard seeing this on television and with every one of the messages I've gotten has been astounding and extremely profound I sincerely cant accept people in general is behind me #24hoursinpolicecustody."

I'm smoldering and in dismay that them 2 got a suspended sentence, that unfortunate couple needed to cut short their kid and that little twat will be sat with his new conceived not giving a s***"

Jay White said: "I don't think a program has wrapped me up such a huge amount for quite a while. 22 months in jail for the person in question, and only a suspended for the hoodlums. Unbelievable. #24hoursinpolicecustody ". Adam, from Bedfordshire, was imprisoned for GBH after the episode.

Adam was subsequently seen as at fault for the offense by a jury after the police took a record to the CPS. However, Taylor Benford and Ryan Paul both got completely suspended sentences and 200 hours of local area administration.

Mark smoldered on Twitter: "24 hours in police care... Simply goodness. The Casualty gets a multi month jail sentence and a cut short child. The rodents to blame get a suspended sentence.

Sue seethed: "Watched 24 hours in Police Guardianship on Channel 4 this evening. I have never been more nauseated with our police the court framework and the horrifying sentences given.
