While politicians in many parts of the world canvass for votes by cuddling babies, Taiwanese candidates campaigning in local elections happening on November 26, 2022, prefer posing with vegetable produce, like garlic or radish. The reason: Taiwan’s love of homonyms, or words with the same or similar pronunciations that carry multiple meanings.
