The Alien God ideology is a popular New Age theory that states human beings were created by aliens through hybridization/genetic modification. According to this theory humans beings must then also evolve through genetic manipulation as well. Thus this theory creates a dependency on "alien gods" and places humanity in a strange co-dependant hierarchy of alien beings. Not to mention, a feeling of immense powerlessness, as we cannot evolve through our own will and efforts.
