1.2. Kingdom of the Heart

So, how is the gospel of Christ’s rule good news? The Scribes and the Pharisees understood that the awaited Christ would establish God’s kingdom and that this King would therefore be their Saviour. The problem was that their value system was in error and because of this; they had the wrong idea of what this King would save them from. The Scribes and the Pharisees thought they needed saving from the threat and oppression of the heathen nations. They were expecting that the Messiah would forever deliver them from all the heathen nations who were ruling over them.
