My thoughts on this are that government bonds and public company bonds are too low in terms of real rate of return and only are suitable for bond traders that want to gamble on interest rate moves using leverage.

Instead of these, it makes more sense to me, to purchase corporate income bonds of private companies. But you want to make sure you are investing in private companies that have experienced management teams that you can talk to directly.

The other component that is important is to acquire several limited partner interests in large multifamily apartment complexes that are more than 100 units and have experienced multifamily investors as the general partners.
