Nintendo Switch sales down 33% due to supply chain issues
Full video: https://youtu.be/OMuRxuSXoSE
Video transcript:
Nintendo Switch sales are starting to slow down in Japan by about 33% compared to similar time last year.
Nintendo says that is because of the shortage of chip materials that among others, include parts for the Bluetooth chips used in the controllers as well as analog chips for power delivery.
Negotiations are underway to secure required parts, but Nintendo is competing with other game companies such as Sony & various smartphone & car manufacturers for these chips.
But what’s really impressive is just how robust Nintendo’s supply chain was so far.
I mean they sold over 107 Mil switches as of March this year.
Comparing that to the PS5 which has sold over 20 Mil units so far & Xbox series X/S which sold over 14 million so far.
