Both Pete Lassard, a fictional character from the movie comedy Police Academy - Their First Assignment from 1985 and the real governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger use a broom in their political speeches. What is not completely clear is are both man aware how ridiculous this looks from a bystander perspective.
