At the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi, Singapore won the men's English billiards doubles for the first time. Peter Gilchrist made up for his singles disappointment, teaming up with Alex Puan to beat Myanmar 3-1. Gilchrist had finished with the silver in singles event, ending his unbeaten SEA Games streak stretching back to 2009. But there was disappointment for Singapore's world number one pool player Aloysius Yap, who crashed out in the men's 10-ball singles semi-finals.
