The inhabitants of the island of Sikinos have a custom of diving into the water as soon as the ferry pulls away from the port as a sign of hospitality. Not as well known as Mykonos and Santorini, the "paradise tourism islands... Sikinos Island draws visitors as a result of the friendliness of the residents and the affordable cost of travel inside Greece. Small and thinly populated, this island lacks a public airport. To get to the island, travelers must take a ferry from Athens or Santorini. People witness visitors being dropped off at the ferry terminal as they depart the island. In addition, many adults and kids will jump into the water at the jetty as the boat pulls away from the port following their custom, leaving Sikinos after the holidays as a sign of respect for others. Sikinos, an island with untamed beauty and minimal human influence, is situated between Ios and Folegandros. Due to the geography, access is challenging to much of the island region. As a result, this area is much quieter and less developed than the nearby islands. A helipad and other lodging options have recently been available to tourists.
