The red anise bird (Geokichla citrina) is a type of songbird from the Turdidae family and the Genus Geokichla. This bird species is omnivorous, eating various kinds of insects, earthworms, and fruit which can be found in several areas of the Indian Sub-continent and the wet and rooted parts of Southeast Asia. This bird species in Indonesia can be found in several areas such as Kalimantan, Java, Bali and several other areas. Anis birds have many names according to their respective regions, such as Kedhis taien sampi, syiap-syiap (Bali); Manuk Worm Necklace (DI.Yogyakarta), Cerbang / Kacer Abang (East Java) and the name of the market is known as Punglor Merah. Medium-sized red anis bird (20–23 cm) with body weight between (47–67 g), orange-headed. Adult: bright orange head, nape and underbody, white tufts, bluish-gray upper body with white patches on upper wings. Young birds are streaked and covered with scales on the back.
