The Chicago skyline is one of the most iconic in the world. That status is due in part to the modern and legendary buildings that can be seen from the coastline of Lake Michigan. It is also important to address those that no longer stand which contributed to its legacy. The Windy City used to look vastly different.

For over a century people have gazed up in wonder at the city's architecture. Chicago is renowned as a global hub for structural education and history. After all, this is the city that invented the skyscraper.

The Columbian Exposition in Augmented Reality

Now due to modern technology, through the wonder of augmented reality the past can rise toward the clouds once again. Thanks to these developments, digital 3D renderings of buildings that existed in 1893 can be layered onto today's world.
