ChromeOS Flex is bringing back life to old PCs & MACs, keeping them away from piles of e-waste.
The operating system is targeted specifically at businesses & schools that are running older hardware but can also be used by anyone else.
The OS is a lot lighter than Windows so older PCs should feel faster & more responsive.
Not to mention that the OS is still getting constant updates & is in particular a lot safer against ransomware attacks because of its locked-down nature.
This will be particularly useful as Microsoft eventually stops updating Windows 10.
Because Windows 11 can only be used on newer hardware that’s just a few years old.
So ChromeOS can be a simple Linux-based OS to keep millions of PCs alive & away from scrapyards.
