Canada: Federal govt announces funding for youth mental health services – November 28, 2022
Carolyn Bennett (minister of mental health and addictions) appears in a virtual news conference from Toronto to make a funding announcement. The federal government is investing $18 million for projects related to mental health and substance use supports for young people, including $1 million through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to help establish a nationwide integrated youth services network. Also participating in the announcement are Michael Tibollo (associate minister of mental health and addictions), Dr. Samuel Weiss (scientific director at CIHR Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction), and Dr. Jo Henderson (executive director of Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario and senior scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health).
